Another Pumpkin patch

We have had a very busy weekend. I took the girls to Lebo on Friday night for the Homecoming football game as my nephew was a homecoming king candidate. We started the evening at the local diner and the girls did great. We discovered that Jordan loves pickles and lemons. Troy went to the NBA game that night so I was on my own. We took the girls to the pumpkin patch outside of Lawrence today with my family and it was a great time. Nothing too exciting for us this week. I just scheduled Rylee's bronch for 11/4. They just need to make sure she doesn't have any scar tissue forming around her trachea and vocal cords. They can also look at her vocal cords to see if they are moving properly. She is still pretty quiet when she talks. She does like to repeat a lot of words and her favorite word is purple. I guess she is going to be a K-State fan. We love being able to hear her voice and I can hardly remember those 18 months not being able to hear her voice at all. Jordan's favorite word is O Sh--! I haven't heard it as much but it was pretty regular for quite awhile. Tiny K was here a couple weeks ago and we got another good report with them. Thanks Ashley for always making me feel like our girls are doing awesome. It is reassuring hearing how well they are doing.

Our little pumkins

I took both girls to Rylee's OT appointment at CMH on Monday and what an adventure that was. Her appointment time was right before nap time and then they stuck us in a really small room and with two toddlers, a double stroller and three adults it was a bit much for the girls. Jordan was so scared and just wanted held the entire time. Rylee ate a few bites of crackers but wouldn't eat or drink anything further. They want us to continue thickening her fluids and she is scheduled for a swallow study in February. They have us doing some other things orally with her to try to get her to chew more and to get a strong swallow. They weighed her and she has lost a few ounces and only weighs 21 pounds. They are a little concerned so we have to go back in six weeks to see if she has gained any weight. We are ordered to give her more snacks and offer all the fat she wants. She has been doing really good with her fluid intake this week. She actually drank about 14 ounces yesterday and then today she only drank about 5 ounces. We took the girls to the Cider Mill pumpkin patch in Louisburg today and it was great being out with them. It was very crowded and both girls did really good. They loved the cider donuts so we bought two dozen. Maybe that will fatten them up! I need to get their flu shots scheduled and other then that we are free for a few weeks. I am still waiting to hear back if they qualify for the synagis vaccinations this year. We are still paying for Jordan's synagis vaccinations from last year so not sure if we can afford it this year too. It will be nice knowing that if they come in contact with someone with RSV they will have less of a chance of getting really ill but on the other hand we would have to take them into the doctor's office every month. I really hate being in the doctor offices during the cold and flu months. We will let the insurance company decide for us if they qualify or not.

Renaissance Festival

We had a great weekend with our little girls. We were going to go to a pumpkin patch on Saturday but the weather didn't look that great so we just went to Wellsville Days. We watched a little bit of the parade and went to the petting zoo. We were able to see Ry's day nurse and nanny MiMi so that was great. We took them to the renaissance festival today and they didn't seem to scared of all the crazy people that were there. Jordan would just look the other way if somebody tried to talk to her. Jordan almost made a trip to the doctor but managed to break her fever just in time to stay home. I have a feeling it might be her 18 month molars breaking through. Rylee has an appointment with OT tomorrow at CMH so I am taking both girls by myself and that should be interesting. We are hoping they will let us start weaning the thickner. We know for sure she can't handle just straight fluid yet as she still coughs when she has some juicy fruit or if she steals a drink from Jordan's cup. Jordan is back to a night bottle of milk as she just isn't drinking enough throughout the day. We also have Tiny K coming tomorrow afternoon and we are looking forward to seeing our Mrs. Ashley.

21 Months

The girls will be 21 months old tomorrow. In 3 short months we will be celebrating their 2nd birthday. That is so hard to believe. We have had a rough week around our household this week. Rylee started having a fever on Monday and by Tuesday Jordan had one too. I loaded them up and took them to the doctor just to make sure they didn't have any ear infections. The doctor was glad I brought them in but he thinks they just had a virus of some sort. Rylee was very cranky all week and had a low grade fever up until Thursday. Jordan only had the fever on Tuesday but hers came back last night. She is still very sleepy and isn't her normal self. We are alternating motrin and tylenol and that seems to help once it kicks in. I am very glad we have our nanny here to take care of the girls otherwise I would have had to take off this past week from work. Thanks MiMi for taking such good care of our girls! Jordan has had to have a few bottles this week as she hasn't been drinking her fluids very well. I had to leave Jordan home today with daddy and Ry and I went to a family gathering in Americus, Ks. I think she enjoyed her day out with mommy. Jordan was not a happy camper when I took off without her. We celebrated daddy's 41st birthday yesterday with some yummy DQ blizzard cake.
